Time & Change
How have you changed over the years?
Reflect on how time, experiences, and life's transitions have shaped the person you are becoming.
Reflection often moves back and forth between three versions of ourselves: who we were, who we are today, and who we hope to become.
Connecting those different moments helps us understand our lives as a journey rather than a collection of isolated events.
Time changes all of us.
Some of us grow through joyful experiences, while others are shaped by hardship, loss, uncertainty, or unexpected opportunities. Every relationship, mistake, success, and disappointment leaves a small mark.
Often those changes happen so gradually that we barely notice them until we look back.
Understanding yourself today means looking at the path that brought you here.
What challenges have you overcome?
What moments changed the way you see yourself or the world?
What parts of you have remained constant, and what has quietly transformed over the years?
Looking at yourself through the eyes of your younger self can be surprisingly revealing. Which parts of your life would make them proud? Which fears would seem much smaller today? Which dreams have changed along the way?
Time has a remarkable way of changing our perspective. Problems that once felt overwhelming often become distant memories, leaving us thinking, "I wish I hadn't worried so much."
At the same time, we sometimes forget to recognise how far we have actually come.
Perhaps one of the most meaningful forms of reflection is simply acknowledging your own growth.
Reflection questions
Take a quiet moment and ask yourself:
What part of you would your younger self be most proud of today?
What are you more patient with now than you were a few years ago?
If you could change one habit in the coming year, what would it be?
